This is a tough one -it is nigh impossible to separate the drummer from the band (as it should be). For pure influence you have guys like Grohl, but I think I could settle for Jeff Porcaro. His range made for many known songs, even apart from Toto, going as wide as playing for Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Clapton and Michael Jackson.
