Song Of The Week: 40,000 Leagues – The Dragon Will Rise

The next instalment in our weekly Spotify Playlist “Song Of The Week” this time we are joined by 40,000 Leagues with their song “The Dragon Will Rise”.

Song Explanation
40,000 Leagues – The Dragon Will Rise (All Rights Are Retained By 40,000 Leagues)

The Dragon Will Rise is really just about a dragon undergoing the trails of life and trying to live up to the expectations of others. Unlike a lot of our other songs it doesn’t have the most serious of topics, we wanted a fun song and theming to go with the catchy melody.

You asked me, so … Okay, do not like when singer screaming all the time, uninteresting and very repetitive melody, drums sound like poorly tuned Harley Davidson. :-]

I actually liked it. Watched the official music video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWi6lynwMlA). It’s clearly meant to be a fun song. I would to a certain point agree with Sergei, when it comes to constant “screaming”, though 😉. This is what I love about legendary bands like Metallica with lead singer James Hetfield, who in contrast impresses with a wide vocal range.

Very true! Nothing to argue about. – I think it’s a great song. For me personally it depends not just on individual taste, but also on the mood. Most of the time I favor this kind of vocals, very rarely I find it unnerving.
