This Week’s Tunes Vol – 8

Welcome to our weekly post dedicated to what each member of the team has been listening to. Delve into the inner workings of what comes out of the speaker at Fox Reviews Rock HQ!

What’s more is that every song in these posts will end up on a dedicated Spotify playlist. Meaning you can catch up on all our favourite new tunes!

Fox

The Amity Affliction – Pittsburgh.

This is a song that ever since I first heard it I felt connected to. Its lyrics focus deeply on mental health. As someone who hasn’t always had the smoothest path with that, I find that important. There is a defiant message to the song to keep going forward and that life gets better.

The album it is on (Let The Ocean Take Me) is 10 years old this year. The band have released a special edition with reimagined versions of all the songs. As a special, I’m going to leave the updated version too!

Rex

SR-71 – Right Now

This song came on while St Jimmy and I were waiting for NOAHFINNCE to come on stage a few days ago, and then again while I was getting a new tattoo the day after. I absolutely loved SR-71 growing up and I don’t recall ever hearing them in the wild, making this song an obvious choice for my song of the week!

St Jimmy

Skillet – Monster

I discovered this band earlier in the week and came across this song, I really enjoy the riff and the chorus is catchy.

Cozzer

Judas Priest – Lightening Strike.

You can’t beat a bit of Judas Priest!

Judas Priest – Lightening Strike (All Rights Retained By Judas Priest)

Lucky Luke

Whitechapel – Unnerving.

I’m torn between choosing my favourite part but the beginning is epic The orchestra/ filthy blast beats and Phil shouting “I am God!!”

Whitechapel – Unnerving (All Rights Retained By Whitechapel)

Not my usual genre but as a lifelong Pittsburgher I was extra motivated to give Fox’s song a chance. It’s not exactly fries and coleslaw on a sandwich but definitely worth the listen. Good stuff
