Review
For the band’s second single, I have to say that if there is more to come then count me in. I’ll definitely be adding it and the band to my Spotify playlist. Immediately, it reminds me of Metallica’s softer tracks. Songs like “Nothing Else Matters” and certain sections of “One” come to mind. It’s a beautifully crafted metal piece, featuring a lovely blend of fuzz and subtle touches of progressive rock woven throughout.
From the start I’m attracted to the guitar’s tone and the vocals are delivered with clarity and sincerity. Initially, the drums play a subtle role, but they shine in the latter half of the track. It is clear from the beginning that the guitar and bass will contribute depth. Their richness will elevate the song.
In my opinion, the song stretches a bit too long at over 6 minutes. I believe it would have been more enjoyable and less busy if it had been just under 5 minutes. While the uncertainty and unpredictability of where the song is headed can be captivating at times, it can also be a bit overwhelming on the senses. But I know there are plenty of fans who will appreciate this longer and eclectic format.
Sometimes I have difficulty catching the lyrics, and I think it might be a mixing issue. While the instruments are played well, I really want to hear the vocals clearly when someone is singing. It is an instrument too after all.
This song really highlights the talents of each band member, showcasing their individual skills. I can sense a lot of potential here. However, they need to refine the hook to truly captivate the listener. It want something that grabs my attention by the throat and pulls me in. After several listens, I cannot recall the chorus. I also cannot remember segments from the verses. This is unusual for me.
This band has the potential to whip up a Michelin-star dish. However, right now, the chefs are tripping over one another. This results in more of a tasty amuse-bouche rather than a complete culinary experience.
6/10
