Florence Black – Bird On A Chain.
I love the riff and the drum combo at the start of this song. When the lyrics come in they really drive forward the song and its like being hit in the face! Helps that the singers voice is amazing too!
Rex
The Who – Baba O’Riley
This week my song is inspired by a small Google maps mystery!
We were looking for places to walk this weekend and stumbled upon a location tag called ‘Who’s Next Monolith’ and curiosity took over. It turns out that there once stood a huge monolith that The Who saw from thier tour bus back in the 70s and decided to take some pictures at. It then later became the album cover for thier album ‘Who’s Next’.
The true location of the monolith was only revealed last year too!
St Jimmy
Motörhead – R.A.M.O.N.E.S.
Ramones – R.A.M.O.N.E.S.
Since we’ve had quite a lot of love for the Ramones this week, I thought it was only fitting to choose the song that Motörhead wrote for their friends across the pond. I really enjoy this song as it merges metal and punk together to create an amazing tribute. I’ve put the 1991 and 2006 release by Motörhead and Ramones cover version on here, let me know which one you prefer.
Cozzer
Trivium – In Waves.
Right from the intro this song demands your attention and I love that!
Lucky Luke
The Ghost Inside – Mercy.
The breakdown is by far the best part of this song that’s just my opinion though so make sure you give it a thorough listen!)
