New Rock Roundup
Rock
Muse – Unravelling.
Whoa not only is this new song by Muse absolutely excellent, it also has real bite to it as well! Really loving this I hope it is a direction they continue to go in.
Special Mention: The Black Keys – Man On A Mission.
Metal
Halocene (ft Holding Absence) – Bite My Tongue.
The combination between the two bands really is a beauty to behold! The chorus while fairly simplistic has a real catchy vibe to it. I love the combination in the voices in this song, it almost gives two different meanings to the same words!
Special Mention: Chained Saint – 1000 Tons.
Metalcore
I Prevail – Into Hell.
Sure the song might be about going into hell, but musically this is heaven. The clean vocals are the calm before the storm. When that storm hits its still a catchy monster and something that I have had on repeat.
Special Mention: Woe, Is Me – Odd Behavior.
Punk
Limited Express (Has Gone?) – Genocide Fuck Off.
You know what sometimes you really do just need a song to display a clear and simple message. This song does just that! It might only be 43 seconds long but nobody is confusing this.
Special Mention: Hot Milk – The American Machine.
Pop Punk
2morrows June – Upside Down.
Infectiously fun! Not to mention really excellent instrument playing this is a band I am going to be keeping a very close eye on. They remind me of early New Found Glory, with that anthemic flavour to their songs.
Special Mention: All Time Low – Suckerpunch.
Alternative
Three Days Grace – Dominate.
Any chance I get to include a song by this band I am going to do it! I am still getting used to the new band dynamic with the dual singers, but its starting to really work. The verses could be slightly better I think , but the chorus oh my word this is brilliant!
Special Mention: Sombr – We Never Dated.
Indie
Bar Italia – Cowbella.
I really like the laid back attitude to this song, it never gets out of 3rd gear and sometimes that it totally ok! With that chilled vibe and 2 singing styles this was always going to interest me! With that indie flair with the instruments to, this is something I’m going to be playing for a while!
Special Mention: Florence Road – Goodnight.
