R.I.P Ozzy Osbourne

Really saddened to hear the news that rock and metal icon Ozzy Osbourne has passed away. He has inspired so many people across both his career with Black Sabbath and his solo work.

Ozzy Osbourne  – Mama I’m Coming Home (All Rights Are Retained By Ozzy Osbourne)

He recently insisted on performing for one last time at Villa Park for the Back To The Beginning tour alongside his Black Sabbath band mates , I am really glad this happened and I could watch the show! It has also raised a lot of money for some very worthy causes!

Black Sabbath  – Paranoid ( All Rights Are Retained By Black Sabbath)

On a personal level I have a lot to thank Ozzy for with his songs being the soundtrack to my years growing up. I am really happy that I got to see him perform both as a solo artist but also with Black Sabbath. Thank you Ozzy for telling everyone that its OK to be a little bit Paranoid, and that life really is a Crazy Train.

It’s awful news , especially so close to his final show. But at least he managed to perform and much more than people expected him to at it.

Just read the news from you Fox, and damn… this one hurts. Ozzy Osbourne meant a lot to me growing up. His music was always there. Loud, unapologetic, and somehow exactly what I needed at different moments in life. I can still feel the rush of Crazy Train blasting while flying down Santa Fe Blvd on my motorcycle, probably going way too fast. Mama I’m Coming Home became something deeper the night my mum passed, and Paranoid helped me survive those rough years in military school. These songs weren’t just music, they were anchors. Ozzy was chaos and catharsis, all wrapped in leather and eyeliner. He’ll never really be gone for those of us who grew up with him stitched into our memories.

I was never a huge Sabbath fan, so I’m actually kinda surprised by how shook I am by this. RIP, Ozzy.

I think he touched the lives of many who loved music. Even if not a Sabbath fan their music and his solo stuff will have influenced other bands you have enjoyed 🙂 Not to mention he is an icon 🙂

Another legend gone. I am sad for his family and fans, but I’m happy for him that he got to perform one last time. It’s almost as though he knew. RIP Ozzie.

I rocked out to Black Sabbath and Ozzy at Ozz Fest tour 1998. Those seemed like fun times but these days I just hope he prayed for salvation, repent, and ask for forgiveness before departing Earth. Even so, the Holy Bible says those that were first shall be last in the eternal kingdom of heaven. I’m just living out my days to be invited in the kingdom at any part after all my years of foolishly living for myself and Earlthy pleasures. Truely hoping John Michael “Ozzy” can Rest In Piece.

I got to see Ozzy solo three times back in the 80s (twice on the Bark at the Moon tour and once on The Ultimate Sin), and they were memorable shows. He was a great frontman and brought a bunch of great guitarists into the spotlight.

I wish I had seen him at a solo tour show , I did see him as part of Sabbath and solo at download festival. But boy what I’d do to see them both in their hayday!

It’s taking a bit to sink in. I was always more a dabbler than a hardcore fan but as I type, I’m listening to the Paranoid album and the fusion of your basic rock band instrumentation and Ozzy’s howling vocals are incredible especially given it was released in 1970. I’m so glad he got that one last moment in the spotlight and despite looking a bit frail as was to be expected, he completely nailed it.

The world feels a little duller without the prince of darkness. His legacy will live on forever.

Ozzy in eternity and joining up with the rock and roll band in the sky, I had just got misty eyes from reading about his daughter Kelly getting engaged with her parents present and now he is gone and didn’t even get to take part at the wedding but I know that he will be there anyway once it happens.
