This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Voila – FMK!
This is one of the softest rock songs I have picked for this section at any point of this feature on the site. However the catchiness of the lyrics makes it fully deserving of it’s spot on the playlist! The acoustic guitar combined with the electric is a nice addition too as you dont see that all too often.
Special Mention: Liam St. John – Trouble.
Metal
Dreams They Have Stolen – Atlantis.
What gets this song into my ears is the amazing drum work! Combined with the dual vocalists and chugging guitar this was an instant addition
Special Mention: Taken By Tides – Back To Hell.
Metalcore
I Prevail – Annihilate Me.
Cozzer actually put me onto this band with his latest “This Weeks Tunes” selection having never given them a chance before! The clean vocalist has a beautiful voice, one that can make me think maggots are not absolutely disgusting… The touch of harsh vocals create a great synergy in sound. There is a touch of mechanical sounds throughout which is interesting too.
Special Mention: Militarie Gun – B A D I D E A.
Punk
DRAIN – Who’s Having Fun?
Fast paced, a touch of metal like guitar tones and catchy. This is not just getting added to this playlist but my own personal one too!
Special Mention: The Dreadnoughts – Tarantella Bang Boom.
Pop Punk
Mayday Parade – Under My Sweater.
Pop Punk! If I needed to explain to someone what it was I’d just stick this song on for them to enjoy.
Special Mention: Yellowcard – Bedroom Posters.
Alternative
Friendship Commanders – X.
For saying this is just two people you really can not tell! Their sound feels really well constructed and full. I like the fuzz sound throughout this song, and it fits the alt category really well.
Special Mention: PTRNS – Mary Jane.
Indie
GOODTWIN – Gorilla Glue.
This is Indie but not how you know it. It has lashings of Hendrix style guitar weaves throughout. Vocally its really light and airy this is nice!
Special Mention: Mancala – We’re Only Getting Older.
