A-Z Of Rock: A Part 1

Welcome to our weekly alphabet themed rock post! In this post we will talk about a specific letter of the alphabet and associate it with all things rock music!

This will include a band with that letter, a song as well as a rocker. There is an accompanying playlist so that the selected songs can be enjoyed! Click the Spotify link below and remember to save it!

Band

AC/DC whoa have these guys had one hell of a career! They even managed to live well past the death of their second singer Bon Scott. Brian Johnson the bands replacement and the man I consider the voice of AC/DC has one hell of a voice. As can be seen on “Back In Black”. A great song and also the name of the first album he featured on.

Song

Ace Of Spades – Motorhead… Seriously I do not need an excuse to use this song on the website. It is my favourite rock song of all time. There is just something about the driving bass and the signature vocal from Lemmy that get me every single damn time.

Rocker

Axl Rose, sure he sounds like the demented love child of Mickey Mouse and Elmo these days. But boy did he have a fantastic voice early in his career! The bandanna wearing high pitch singing legend didn’t just kill it on the top selling songs but songs like You Could Be Mine, does not get enough love. So here I am giving it some!

Many bands surprised us after the departures of their distinctive lead singers. Genesis and Van Halen are two others that come to mind.

AC/DC has multiple awesome songs. Thunderstruck is one of my favorites. Shook Me All Night Long is great for bar dancing. Dirt Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) is just plain fun to sing along. But here in San Diego, if you remember the Padres’ all time best closing pitcher, Trevor Hoffman, they always played Hells Bells when he would take the mound.

“Axl Rose… sounds like the demented love child of Mickey Mouse and Elmo these days.”

This is the best quote about music that I’ve read in a long time…
