Set The Tone With

The premise behind this post type is to get an insight into the daily lives of the bands that we love! We have given them some situations to attribute a song to and let us know why that song in particular is perfect!

You can check out the answers the band gave below, as well as jam out to the tunes they picked. Want to listen to the complete collection from this segment? Click the Spotify link below!

What is the perfect song for the gym?

Artem (Vocals) : Hostile Youth by Saigon Kick! Absolute beast of a song with such a meaty riff. The harder the exercise the heavier the song has to be in my experience!

Saigon Kick – Hostile Youth (All Rights Are Retained By Saigon Kick)

What is your go to happy song, when you’re angry or sad?

Tizzy (Guitar) : I’d go for Undertow by Marty Friedman, because it’s a powerful instrumental guitar solo that makes me emotional.

Marty Friedman – Undertow (All Rights Are Retained By Marty Friedman)

The perfect song to put on while cooking?

Artem (Vocals) : I love my 70s playlist when I cook, so something like Brandy (You’re a fine girl) by the looking glass is something that comes to mind. Something groovy that gets you vibing when reheating leftovers.

Looking Glass – Brandy (You’re A Fine Looking Girl) (All Rights Are Retained By Looking Glass)

The wind down song at the end of a long day to get you to sleep?

Artem (Vocals) : Despite the questionable lyricism, I’m on Fire by Springsteen is always a top choice. Only issue is, it’s on the same album as much louder songs like Born in the USA, so if I drift off mid song, I tend to be woken up when the next track comes on.

Bruce Springsteen – I’m On Fire (All Rights Are Retained By Bruce Springsteen)

The song by Väin Wild that you are most proud of?

Tizzy (Guitar) : Off The Chain would be my choice, it’s one of the first songs that I ever wrote. It’s great fun to play live and it’s had a great reaction from fans.

Vain Wild – Off The Chain (All Rights Are Retained By Vain Wild)

Your all time favourite rock song?

Artem (Vocals) : My favourite rock song hasn’t changed for many years now, and I don’t know if it ever will. Blood on Blood by Bon Jovi, a song that truly means so much to me, and that I will forever get goosebumps from.

Bon Jovi – Blood On Blood (All Rights Are Retained By Bon Jovi)

The perfect song to set the mood on a date?

Artem (Vocals) : Something cheesy but powerful like This Time It’s Love by D’Molls. Honestly I haven’t been in a situation where I have to set the mood with music, but a ballad would do the trick.

D’Molls – This Time It’s Love (All Rights Are Retained By D’Molls)

A song by an amazing local band we might not know about?

Tizzy (Guitar) : I’d recommend Not Yet by Mother Vulture. It’s raunchy, loud, and powerful, and great fun to experience live!

Mother Vulture – Not Yet (All Rights Are Retained By Mother Vulture)

Fox: We actually interviewed Mother Vulture! Check it out here!

The perfect pre show song to amp you up?

Tizzy (Guitar) : Definitely Monkey Business by Skid Row. It has a great energy that makes me want to headbang and shred on my guitar!

Skid Row – Monkey Business (All Rights Are Retained By Skid Row)

A great song you think Fox Reviews Rock won’t have heard before?

Artem (Vocals) : Let It Rain by Warrant. An absolute tune, and such a shame it is so under appreciated in the glam metal scene. I genuinely think this is Warrant’s best ballad, MAYBE second best behind I Saw Red.

Warrant – Let It Rain (All Rights Are Retained By Warrant)
