Fox’s Recommendations
Carrion
Parkway Drive hit the sweet spot on this song between raw aggression and still somehow remaining melodic! It is heavy for sure with massive riffs, and breakdowns. But the chorus in anthemic in nature and is something that sticks to you like a leach.
Prey
Prey represents everything that Parkway became. Much more anthemic and arena ready! Even with their heavy metal sound they fill places out. The guitars are tuned much lower and use a massive groove riff to be more rhythmic than their older more chaotic style. I feel this is the song that proved to the world that Parkway could write songs not just amazing instrumentals!
Fox’s Wildcard
Breaking Point
Another song from their 2007 album “Horizons” yet for some reason this track does not get any attention. I enjoy they metaphors the band use to set up a bleak and dark atmosphere of human desperation. It has speed up until the point of that breakdown which is dark and moody. I honestly think if this song had the same commercial backing as other songs from the album it could have been a fan favourite.
