This is super tough. I’m old enough to have been a Doors fan back in the day (albeit a young one 😁) and I also love NIN. I think I have to give this one to NIN for the edgy shock value alone.

That’s not to say Jim Morrison wasn’t pretty darned edgy for his time. I imagine he would have liked/admired NIN had he still been around.

In terms of influence, I would say NIN. Look at their influence on country music alone (Johnny Cash, Lil Nas X).

I have to go with The Doors. Mostly because they sort of laid the groundwork for groups like NIN.

In this case, The Doors, and the real wonder for me is what would they have put out had Jim Morrison lived? If only he and Jimi and Janis and so many others had the opportunity to grow old and keep creating! I imagine them as the lifetime achievement award recipients, but that’s in another world.

I’ve never really been a fan of either, but there are certain songs I like, or at least I don’t switch to something else if I find them playing on my car radio. However, you picked two really decent ones. Maybe, for me, good ones. But I can’t pick between them. I’m sorry. I’m a failure at decision, lol. (In this case, anyway.)

The Doors without hesitation. They have as many great albums as NIN has great songs, in my opinion. And I can listen to them over and over.

Well see, now that’s actually a hard choice. But I’m going to go with The Doors. I discovered them first and if I sit and think about it, I just vibe with more of their catalog than NIN, who I also really like. 😛
