Band Background
If you love grunge and alt rock then Hot Wax might just be the band for you. Bringing back those styles with a vengeance the trio might have been born after the original era but man they embody it. With a cracking live show and a strong reputation this is just the start for Hot Wax.
What’s Good About This Album
This is really strong for a debut album, somehow managing to capture the bands gritty live performances into an album. It sounds a little chaotic at times but that is no bad thing and I honestly think this should be enjoyed in its original running order. Grunge is back but this time with youthful enthusiasm.
Favourite Tracks
The song starts out almost with a riff that could creep anyone out. It feels really dark and brooding before evolving into this huge atmospheric anthem. I think this song would sound amazing loud at a gig. It feels more mature than some of their other songs and might end up being the next direction they go in.
Grungy, with distorted guitars and a rhythm that just doesn’t quit! With the odd bit of blues here and there this is a hit. It isn’t too long, which also means it has a real ability to be replayed. Again and again. Look out for the deep bass line!
