It’s the time of the week that we highlight one of our favourite new releases. This time its Rabbit Hole by Bloomtide. Read a little about the song in the band’s own words!
Song Background Information
Rabbit Hole was written during a difficult time in our lives, feeling pulled in multiple directions, and not being sure who we were. The song for us has many meanings, obviously heavily referencing Alice In Wonderland, It is a dark dialogue between who we should be and the parts of us that try to drag us down to the dark.
It is also about the feeling of being trapped in an unhealthy dynamic, whether that’s in a relationship, family, or toxic friendship. Most of the song is sung from our own perspective, feeling like a passenger in a car going off the cliff edge, while the breakdown is sung from the perspective of the other.
We’re a band with a strong belief in DIY and try to include our friends and family in all aspects of the band as much as possible, such as the incredible artwork designed and created by Meg of Graves Creative Studios. The song was recorded, produced and mixed entirely in-house by Dan our vocalist and then mastered by Grant Berry of Fader Mastering. We hope you find something in it that speaks to you.
What’s Next For Bloomtide?
“After an incredibly successful 2025, having played at Thekla, O2 Academy Bristol, and self promoting our first ever headline show at The Croft Bristol, Bloomtide will be taking a short break from shows to focus on recording our Debut EP – ‘A Death In The Garden’, set to release in the 2nd half of 2026 that will coincide with a series of UK wide shows. In the meantime we have just released a new run of Merch including tees, hats, tote bags, key rings, prints, and more which people can check out and purchase from our Bandcamp Merch Store”
