It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.
Band Background
The Rasmus are a band that I have ALWAYS loved ever since first hearing them as a kid at a scouts camp. They formed in 1994 and have this delicious blend of dark lyrics amongst alternative rock tunes. They are obviously best known for their monster hit “In the shadows” but to be honest there are songs on this record I love just as much. The band have managed to tweak their sound yet feel modern and tied to their roots at the same time.
What’s Good About This Album
Somehow this is the bands 11th album! This one in particular highlights their pop like touches blended with alt and hard rock to perfection. The hooks on this album are so strong, as are the choruses that are so damn catchy. This will be a favourite of fans, and new people alike I know that for a fact. As someone who felt like an outsider growing up I connect so much to these lyrics.
Favourite Tracks
This song is about a toxic connection and the feeling of breaking free. Its memorable with its catchy lyrics and feels every bit as powerful as the band intended. Oh and who doesn’t love 2 Eurovision bands at once?
I didn’t include Creatures Of Chaos here because we already reviewed that song… But Rest In Pieces is more than worthy of this spot. It pairs melodic with intensity in a way that I think people are going to love.
