It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.
Band Background
Forming back in 1997 the Canadian band Three Days Grace have been known for their emotional lyrics, anthem like songs and huge riffs. They have been a major influence in alternative rock since the early 2000s. Also on a side note… My personal favourite band. I also got to see them for the first time in years just last week so there is going to be a review to look forward to of that.
What’s Good About This Album
Well lets get the elephant out the room over with. This is the first album with original singer Adam Gontier for over 11 years! He has returned to the band while replacement singer Matt Walst has remained. This gives this album its uniqueness. It has the blend of both singers truly making this amazing. The themes of the album focus on alienation, inner struggle and resilience.
Favourite Tracks
This was the comeback single for Adam and the first in the new chapter of duel lead vocalists. It blends the classic Three Days Grace formula of heavy guitars, urgent vocals with a brand new twist. The riff and hooks in this song make it memorable especially that chorus.
My personal favourite song on the album is In Waves. I enjoy the vocals switching between singers, with a rise and fall motion like actual waves. It is darker in nature than some of the other tracks on the album, both in theme and instrumentation. I really don’t know why this was not selected as a single it is that good.
