This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie! This week is a little different as there are so few new releases across the genre’s its a rock and metal double special. With tracks today and tomorrow!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock – 1
Marmozets – You Want The Truth.
There is a really thick fuzz in this track that naturally hooks me right in! Combined with the vocals that are excellent and even have a slight electronic engineering to them, difference is not always bad. I prefer this track to their other new song.
Rock – 2
Arkells ft Portugal. The Man – Money.
I have to admit I was actually interested in this track at first due to its featuring artist. Portugal. The man are simply excellent. That being said this song from Arkells has got my attention, its light and fun. Nobody is going to find this hard to listen to at all. The chorus is expansive too.
Rock – 3
Guns N’ Roses – Nothin’.
It’s new Guns N’ Roses! Like what more could you want. The best thing about the recorded stuff is that Axl’s voice can be fixed… I enjoy the slow piano start before the thumping riff comes in as well as the bass. It’s an up and down tempo type song which I am really enjoying. Especially that epic guitar solo, Slash has still got it!
Metal – 1
Lionheart – Ice Cold.
This song enters like a thump in the chest, aggression in spades! Heavy riffage progresses into this high speed vocal approach that will have everyone head banging. There is nu-metal elements in this too which I had not initially expected.
Metal – 2
Tom Morello ft Beartooth – Everything Burns.
I adore the vocals by Caleb Shomo, so when I learned this song existed I was always going to be interested. I am not so sure about the overengineering but the chorus and high speed parts are exceptional. Tom on the guitar is naturally amazing too.
Metal – 3
Cloudsight ft Adam On Earth & Kellin Quinn – Dead Stars.
Another band I had not actually heard of before this… The feature by the high noted Kellin Quinn. In this case it counteracts the typical metalcore style tune. Kellin isn’t for everyone, but he does add something great here.
