Broken Narrative - October

It’s the time of the week that we highlight one of our favourite new releases. This time its October by Broken Narrative. Read a little about the song in the band’s own words!

Song Background Information

Broken Narrative – October (All Rights Are Retained By Broken Narrative)

Borne of magic, escapism and moral conflict, ‘October’ is an anthem to Autumn. Written as a reflective entry by lead researcher, The Narrator, into Broken; Narrative’s ongoing Project: Chronicle, its an addendum to ‘A Thesis On Change’, the band’s debut record and research submission.

The song mixes imagery of leaves falling, magic and romance with a conversation between two characters, representing stasis and change. Two conflicting mindsets and ideals that challenge oneself to embrace both. Fans of Normandie, Don Broco, and more melancholic performances like Holding Absence will note influence in the musicianship and vocals of the band’s final single for 2025.
