This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!
There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup
Rock
Muse – Be With You.
So this is not your usual Muse song, not even remotely! It is slower, emotive and truly expansive. Matt at times reminds me of Freddie Mercury. There is this little funky vibe that comes in more and more as the song progresses. It’s different, and that is why I like it.
Metal
Holywatr – Pure Leaf.
Holywatr is not a band that I am familiar with, but I will be keeping an eye out for them on any festivals I attend. They have a real metal style on the instrumentals, yet this really delicate vocal that completely transforms. At times it’s high pitched and others its full of emotion. I LOVE this!
Metalcore
Future Palace – Supernova.
Berlin based Future Palace like to mix electronics in with post-hardcore. I don’t care what they call it, its Metalcore in my books. And more importantly its really good! The female vocal on clean and harsh screams gives me goosebumps. Having seen them live previously I can say even better in person too.
Punk
RATSALAD. – Bike Beach Pub.
Another of the bands that I had not heard of before, RATSALAD are bringing that fun edge to punk in a really cool way. Not to mention the pure speed that the vocals are coming the listeners way! Did I mention trumpets?
Pop Punk
Lambrini Girls – Cult Of Celebrity.
“The devil’s on your shoulder with one hell of a deal, take it”. You know what girls I might just do that! The flow of the vocals on this is sublimely interesting! I have gone on a bit of a rabbit hole with this one, you might want to do the same…
Alternative
Mazare ft PLAIINS – DIGAF.
So PLAIINS vocals with a twist! That twist is drum and bass, which I was not expecting at all… Plaiins are one of my favourite bands and this song while completely different is still tickling my fancy. The end of the song is HEAVY!
Indie
Kyle Falconer ft The Lottery Winners – Lady Coachella.
This is light and breezy, the type of song you would listen to with your mates in the sunshine. I could see this song breaking the mainstream really easily. Lets see if it does just that. The Lottery Winners, intrigue me as a band in general so I wonder if I am being led down an Indie path for 2026. I dont mind that!
