New Rock Roundup Vol 45

This is our brand new weekly feature (Normally) on a Monday! The New Rock Roundup will rank the latest releases spanning across the world of rock music. With entries from rock, metal, metalcore, punk, pop punk, alternative and indie!

There will be a brief explanation about why I (Fox) enjoy the song in question from each category before I rank them at the end in terms of my own preference. I would love to hear your own person ranking as well as why you agree with or disagree with my comments.

New Rock Roundup

Rock

Marmozets – Cut Back.

It is no secret I am a fan of all things Marmozets, the band and the animal alike! I really enjoy the contrast between styles in this track and the electronic elements are truly interesting. The best news of 2026 was their return!

Metal

Atreyu ft Soulfly & Max Cavalera – Childen Of Light.

This is a really interesting track by Atreyu, not to mention the Soulfly collab and Max Cavalera previously of Sepultura!. I like the blend between the influences from all involved here, it’s not just another Atreyu song that is for sure!

Metalcore

Florence Black – Half The World Away.

As far as Florence Black goes this song feels absolutely massive! In terms of its like 4x harder than anything they have put out before. The song returns to type like half way through but I like that they are not playing things safe. Harsh vocals are not what I think of when I think of Florence Black which I do OFTEN!

Punk

Wasted Youth Club – Poison Cup.

The riff that kicks this song off is a killer! When the drums and bass fills it out whoa this is tasty. Vocally this is punky, quick paced and full of attitude. I just looked the band up and they have 2000 monthly listeners! MADNESS, they are so good.

Wasted Youth Club – Poison Cup (All Rights Are Retained By Wasted Youth Club)

Pop Punk

Faber Drive – Died In Your Arms.

Ok so everyone knows this song, it’s a cover. But covers can be great too! Faber Drive previously have passed me by but if this song is anything to go by I think I need to start paying closer attention. You do too!

Faber Drive – Died In Your Arms (All Rights Are Retained By Faber Drive)

Alternative

Black Oak County – Energy.

Energy is the correct name for this song! It has tonnes of it, with massive guitars, pounding drums and a voice that gets you headbanging. Whoosh!

Black Oak County – Energy (All Rights Are Retained By Black Oak County)

Indie

Kurt Vile – Chance To Bleed.

It’s time to get laid back for this one! Slow vibes, great guitarss, a real Indie feel. Love it.
