It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.
Band Background
The year was 2001 and into the world popped Volbeat from Denmark. Blending heavy metal, rock and rockabilly. Fusing melodic riffs with anthemic choruses and at times harsh vocals out of nowhere. This album marks the first album without their long time guitarist Rob Caggiano but to be honest it doesn’t look like they have missed a beat.
What’s Good About This Album
The sense of rebirth post hiatus gives this a real refreshing feel to it. The album was seemingly put together very quickly with the aim to escape over thinking. The result is fantastic. With moments more suited to a thrash album and others feeling delicate or playful. New listeners will love its varying style while long time fans will be glad it keeps what makes Volbeat unique.
Favourite Tracks
There is a reason why this was selected to be the albums lead single. It is aggressive, yet never loses its melodic underbelly. With thrash elements though it has a darker feeling than the typical Volbeat number. You can still sing to it , which demonstrates real skill in the song writing department.
This is a complete flip on the song above it. Its melodic and will appeal to the mainstream it would go down really well in a stadium too. This showcases the moving parts of life and how it can be great and bad. This also features more of those rockabilly type vocals so if that is for you excellent!
