It has been a great year in the realms of all things rock! What better way to celebrate the brilliant new releases of 2025 by counting down our favourites.
Band Background
I have to admit I found out about this band WAY later than I should have. Thrice with their post-hardcore roots these days have splashing’s of alt rock to enjoy too. The reason why I love them is their way of lyric writing making them easily one of the more “real” and creative bands out there. Their album catalogue shows they are not afraid to experiment, but this one is a win.
What’s Good About This Album
Well other than reminding me of one of my personal favourite video games this is actually meant as a companion to their 2021 offering. I’d say this is closer to straight up rock than they have been for a while but with the urgency of their earlier work. The lyrics yet again are fantastic and blends heaviness with atmosphere generation perfectly.
Favourite Tracks
This is one of their heaviest songs in quite some time. It is firmly back into the post-hardcore realms. With distorted guitars and thumping drums this hits hard. “I’m a heavy hammer”. Yes you are!
This is more what I am about though broody, moody goodness! The band in my opinion are best when being as emotionally complex and honest as they can be. This is as beautiful as it is tragic. Wrapped up in a song that shifts from calm to urgent all without you realising.
