What is the perfect song for the gym?
I have a mixed bag on at the gym, but if I need an extra bit of motivation I throw on Endless, the latest album from Clowns. The opener, FORMALDEHYDE is an absolute ripper!
What is your go to happy song, when you’re angry or sad?
10 WEST by Mad Caddies. Whenever I hear this track it makes me feel good. The tempo, lyrics and catchy melody always has me singing and smiling.
The perfect song to put on while cooking?
Big fan of The Drowns so the album Blacked Out is always on. Recently got the Live at rebellion festival vinyl and it’s my go to cooking album. All songs are belters but WOLVES ON THE THRONE makes me whisk those scrambled eggs to perfection.
The wind down song at the end of a long day to get you to sleep?
STAY UP ALL NIGHT is a recent release by the amazing MXPX. I find myself smoking CBD to chill out and this track is a beautiful accompaniment to my relaxation hour along with my acupuncture matt.
The song by Everyone Lies that you are most proud of?
This one took a while before I brought it to the band to work on. It started a couple years ago as an idea for a fun time drinking anthem, but one day I realised I wasnt having fun with alcohol anymore. The lyrics took a shift in tone and it came together pretty quickly. It means a lot to me on a personal level, playing a huge part in my sobriety, and I’ve been touched by how many people have spoken to me after shows to tell me it really resonted with them. It closes our latest EP Web of Lies. You can really hear a lot of our influences in this track.
We all brought so many different ideas to this song and I personally feel it is one of our best songs we’ve ever written. The lyrics are so powerful and connect to so many people. Its a punk song that definitely gives a lot of people a lump in their throat.
Your all time favourite rock song?
Very tough one… but I’m going to have to say ONLINE SONGS by blink-182. I love how the dynamics change up so much through the song! The drums are amazing and so creative! It’s just such a catchy song!
The perfect song to set the mood on a date?
ALL AROUND THE WORLD AND BACK by State champs or EVEN IF SHE FALLS by blink-182. Both of these songs have really nice melodies and really nice lyrics that perfectly set the mood for those chilled out sexy vibes.
A song by an amazing local band we might not know about?
KEEP MOVING ON by BOB RATS. Not only are they an awesome ska-punk band, they are lovely lads, brilliant musicians and this song is a perfect ska song!
The perfect pre show song to amp you up?
Whenever I watch the Motley Crue biopic The Dirt I always want to go play a show straight away. The credits roll with KICK START MY HEART so every time I hear that tune I just want to jump about on a stage.
A great song you think Fox Reviews Rock won’t have heard before?
I have a couple in mind, but one is from a band I just saw at a sold out show so figure you might have heard it. So, I’m going with SEMPRE MEGLIO by Linea 77 who are criminally under appreciated. They’re an Italian metal band who don’t seem to do much outside mainland Europe but I caught them at Reading festival years back. I bought their first album after Tommy Vance wore one of their shirts on the VH1 Friday Night Rock Show (showing my age!)
