Wow everyone seriously I am so thrilled and overcome with emotion that I’ve hit 1000 followers on Fox Reviews Rock. When I started this site my first aim was 10,000 views in a year and 1000 followers. To have blown both those targets out of the water less than 4 months in is insane. I quite literally could not have done this without you all I appreciate you all so much!

So I wanted to do something a little bit different today , I want you to get to know me a bit better! So ask me anything! Granted there are some things I might not answer but I hope its something you will all enjoy doing , I’ll aim to get back to you all as fast as possible.

Maybe you want to know who inspired me to love rock , my favourite band and the band I cant stand! Its all on the table, so jump into the comment section and ask away!

      Thanks so much ! And that’s such a hard and brilliant question.
      I’d say picking just one would be impossible, but basically any that go into detail about what they liked about a post of mine are my favourite that gives me the inspiration to continue writing the reviews. So yeah sorry I didn’t answer it per say but I hope this does the job.

      That one is easy! My dad used to play bands like bon Jovi, ac/dc and iron maiden in the car when I was a kid I suspect that might have lit the flame 🙂

      If I had to then Slash , having seen him multiple times both solo and as part of guns n Roses I’d say that man has got some serious talent. 🙂

          He’s one hell of a coop dude too , I was told many a funny story that I can’t repeat by Duff McKagen about what he used to get up to haha! ( I interviewed duff’s daughter once )

    Congratulations and rock on. I am so much into all kinds of music particularly oldies that I have loved for a long time, I just recently started up another free blog on WordPress to share my music posts from Vocal Media. My other WordPress blogs have got followers and people enjoying what I share. The problem with my music blog is that it is new and I do promote it to social media but it is having a hard time taking off. The reason I mention this is because I enjoy your music blog and I would share it on my music blog or as WordPress says press it but right now there are hardly any followers.

      I wish ! I am honestly useless at playing instruments which made me feel a little wary about reviewing others work but to be honest that passed a long time ago!
      If I could play any instrument it would be the piano (I have tiny hands so I’d struggle) or the drums because purely for the letting out of emotions thrashing away sounds great !

      All our vinyl is played on my wife’s very small turntable , however most of our music these days is played via spotify on our smart speakers , it’s a shame you lose so much sound quality but it’s purely for convenience. If I had everything on record I’d have to buy a lot of stuff haha

    What do you consider some of the defining rock songs from the 1990s? I’m doing some stories from that period and would like to see if I could match them. I’m currently veering ‘too much’ into synth (which I also love, haha).

      Consistency, I used to have a blog that had a few million views and I noticed that posting at the same time of day every time really helps. Also trying to fill your post schedule so every day has a post helps too. It keeps people coming back for more , but try and keep the post type the same for each day.
      As I’m in the process of getting this blog up and running I’ve not filled in all the days of the week yet but it’s getting there.

      Weirdest has to be velvet underground -the murder mystery , telling a murder mystery in a song is pretty darn wacky!

      As for instrumental rock bands maybe the following

      Animals as leaders
      Chon
      Polyphia
      Intervals
      Russian circles

    Hey Fox, congratulations! The same sort of thing happened to me. I didn’t expect anything much, then I wrote a post on Shakespeare and Iambic Pentameter, and suddenly I discovered that I filled a niche nobody else was filling. It was like rocket fuel; Maybe you’ve done the same thing. But hey, here’s my question. I’m a lifelong classical music listener, and by lifelong I mean since I was 2 years old. JS Bach was/is my hero. But I also remember when the Beatles were together! (I was three years old) and have always loved the Beatles. They understood harmony the way the great composers understood harmony. I would like to enjoy more Rock bands, but when you’ve spent a lifetime listening to the mind-blowing key changes/modulations of a JS Bach, most Rock and Pop just doesn’t cut it. What band, today, would you say is the most talented and interesting, melodically and harmonically?

      Oooh that’s a fantastic question , maybe some older bands like def Leppard, journey , foreigner. Newer bands like avenged sevenfold , black stone cherry , the struts , greta van fleet (probably this the most likely )

        Holy… Just listening to greta van fleet. How does anybody not know about them? How did I not know about them? Am listening to Meeting the Master, and having flashbacks to 1978, D&D, bell bottoms and Journey. First of all, reincarnation is a thing and we know where Freddy Mercury is. Second, you’re right about their harmony. I just sent a link to my daughter. She might melt when she sees their video.
