Cozzer’s Question 27/05/24

Answer this age old question, which band is better The Rolling Stones or The Beatles?

I’ll go first. In my opinion The Rolling Stones is the better band as I have always found their songs catchier and more to my taste.

O would say The Rolling Stones, although I do enjoy some of The Beatles songs – especially their later work. Depends on my mood!

No idea if Cozzer will agree with me on this one , but its the Stones all the way. And I’m not even a huge fan of them. For me the Beatles are vastly overrated , not to say they are bad not even close but its tiresome how much they are talked up as if they were some sort of gods.

I do agree mostly……. I’ve never really got on with the beatles. However they certainly have earned their place in music history.

I like chocolate ice cream. I can eat it every day. you can’t go wrong with it, it’s chocolate. the Stones are my chocolate. the Beatles are the 10000 other flavors my sonic palette craves.

It’s like comparing apples and oranges, but I go with the Stones. I was a rabid fan for 35 years up until the turn of the century–then I burned out on them, thinking it was time they retired….mea culpa, I was wrong……

Mick Jagger is such a rock god, he makes The Beatles look like a boy band.

Stones all day! The tough question for me is to choose which album ranks in as Number One. Exile on Main Street? Sticky Fingers? To be honest, my favorite album (and song) has to be Let It Bleed. We all need someone to lean on!

She said my breasts they will always be open, come on, rest your weary head right on me, and there will always be a space in my parking lot if you need a little Coke and Sympathy.

As bands go I probably have to say the Stones but individually I think the beatles were more talented.

The Beatles for me, hands down! The stones have become a parody of themselves. If Lennon was still alive today (and still in the Beatles), he would never allow the band to become too settled or complacent, even at the grand old age of 83. Not a great fan of ‘Macca’, though, and what he eventually morphed into.

They’re both great, but I like the Beatles better. Their music was more versatile to reflect the changes in their lives, or maybe just to stretch creativity. The Stones didn’t change that much, but I suspect that many fans probably like that about them.

The Stones. The Beatles are, for me, what the English Patient was to cinematographie. I liked it but could never really understand the hype. That is why we need diverse types of artists; some will touch you more than others.

Commenting as a chicken, we prefer The Beetles (spelled a bit differently than your Beatles) since they are much tastier!

For me it is both because each band gave me something i needed in my youth. The Beatles for sentimentality and the exuberance of love with every dance step and holding hands and The Rolling Stones for expression like when things went wrong at home I would blast The Last Time or for breakups and sadness Ruby Tuesday.

I think you can make a strong argument for the Beatles being the more innovative and most influential band, but as I grew older I became much more interested in The Stones as something I would put in my regular rotation. Having said that, I think the White Album and Exile on Main Street spent about an equal amount of time in my Walk Man.

While both bands are good, I tend to have more of an appreciation for The Beatles’ material.
