As always with my Tuesday up-and-coming bands posts , I focus on bands with under 500,000 monthly streams on Spotify, hopefully you discover new music along with me on this journey. I’ll be adding 3 songs from these weekly posts to my own Spotify Playlist.
Background Information
Tigercub, a three-piece band from Brighton, has been rocking the alternative scene since 2011. This tiger doesn’t purr – it roars with some serious bite (Mainly from the bass drum)! With a towering 7ft lead singer, Jamie Hall, who not only belts out vocals but also shreds on guitar and pens all the tunes, Tigercub brings a unique blend of soft melodies and heavy riffs that have drawn comparisons to Queens Of The Stone Age.
The band’s trademark quirky moments caught the attention of Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard, leading to a record deal with Loosegroove Records – an interesting extra QOTSA comparison. If you’re looking for music that will challenge and captivate your senses, Tigercub is the band for you. They’re experimental, they’re strange, and they’re absolutely brilliant!
Who Do They Sound Like?
Queens of the Stone Age, Muse & Royal Blood
Latest Album
The Perfume Of Decay (Named after a line in a film the singer was watching) follows up the great work from previous outing As Blue As Indigo.
