Song Review
The Ghost Inside, formerly known as A Dying Dream, stands as a powerhouse in the realm of metalcore music, hailing from El Segundo, California. This song exhilarates with all the essential elements of a true metalcore anthem. For those unfamiliar, metalcore emerged in the 80s, intertwining punk with metal to create a genre characterized by its energetic, fast to medium pace, and featuring a pop-like lyrical structure.
The intro explodes with lead singer Jonathan Virgil passionately belting out “For Whom the Bell Tolls!” (Could this be a Metallica reference?) This track is a force of nature, delivering exceptional vocals and powerful riffs that are sure to set your soul on fire. And oh, the breakdown – it’s absolutely unforgettable. Share your thoughts about the breakdown in the comments below, it’s a moment that’s just too powerful to resist!
The only downside I see to this song is the absence of a genuine music video. It’s this aspect that I genuinely believe could have taken it to a whole new level.
