Introduction to Seven Blood
Today, we have an interview with Oli Arnold (Guitar) from the band Seven Blood. Completing the Germany-based quartet are Azaria Nasiri (Vocals), Anfy Hartmann (Drums), and Josi Hille (Bass). Together, they create songs rooted in deep personal meaning that display the contrasting journeys through life for each of the members.
The band’s sound is best described as melodic yet heavy-hitting, with the newly released debut single “Killing From The Inside” being a perfect example of this. Their riff-driven music draws influence from bands such as Architects, Sleep Token, and My Chemical Romance. When asked to describe their music, they replied “It’s personal, intimate, loud, intense, and honest” – personally, we think that hits the nail on the head! We found that “Killing from the Inside” made us feel the music, which is both rare and very meaningful.
Collectively at Fox Reviews Rock, we cannot wait to see where the band goes creatively! If you want to continue keeping an eye on Seven Blood’s story moving forward, you can do so by following them on social media!

Interview
Can you introduce yourself and include something interesting that other people might not know about you.
“Hi, my name is Oli. I play guitar in the band Seven Blood. I own a touring agency and do half marathons whenever possible.“
Why Seven Blood? What’s the meaning behind the name, was it a collaborative naming process?
“We talked about a potential name for weeks. We really wanted to have a name that covers the songs and emotions we’ve already written. Anfy proposed Seven Blood. I didn’t take it too seriously because I thought it’s another band’s name.“
“But after a couple of weeks, he proposed it again, and then I realized it’s just a super cool name for what we’re doing. Now we’re Seven Blood.”

There are so many people in the world, what makes your band members so special both personally and musically?
“I met Azaria in late 2019 before the pandemic arrived. We had already talked about the idea of making music together. She always gave me a really comfortable feeling. Then more than three years went by, and I texted her to ask if she was still interested in making music. Fortunately, she said yes. The first thing we did was just have a drink and talk about music and what we like and what not. Her knowledge about music in different genres is huge. We share our passion from Fleetwood Mac to heavy music.”
“Then there’s Anfy, a very close friend for more than 25 years now. We met at the age of 11 in the local Karate club. We quickly discovered our passion for music, which we still share to this date.”
“Then I met Josi early this year. We had been looking for another bandmate. A friend of ours connected us, and when Josi entered the rehearsal space, we immediately knew that she’s perfect for our band.”

Where did you grow up? How do you think this has impacted your musical influences and now your own music?
“I grew up in the middle of nowhere, in a tiny town called Suhl, in Thuringia in the former GDR (German Democratic Republic). This city is heavily influenced by the GDR’s past. Once there were over 70,000 citizens, and now there are 32,000 citizens. We had no rock concerts in town, so we really needed to check out music via TV and the Internet. This environment shaped our DIY attitude, I guess.”
Your debut single “Killing from the Inside” has just been released. What is it about?
“It’s about a toxicity that is deeply rooted in everyone’s soul. Azaria came up with this idea.“
You worked with Dan Weller, who has previously worked with massive bands such as (Enter Shikari/Young Guns). What was he like to work with?
“It was an incredibly great experience. He helped us to shape our sound, gave us super helpful feedback, and was very dedicated to this production. We really appreciate having him on board.“
What would you classify as the band’s mission statement? What do you want fans to get out of your songs?
“We just want to share some emotional experiences. We’re sure that people, especially young people, share the same experiences. We’re a band born from a collective moment of personal crisis, and we now want to provide the soundtrack to recovery for fans going through their own traumatic times.“
The music video for killing from inside sees you performing in a black room surrounded by mannequins, is there any symbolism at play here? Or what do you think the video adds to the song?
“Yes, the idea was that the mannequins symbolize the above-mentioned different facets we all carry within us. The positive ones as well as the toxic ones. We thought it’s important enough to sing about it to help to avoid these facets from coming to the surface.“

If you could name some bands that you think fans of would like your music, which bands would they be?
“We want to make music for fans of Architects, Bad Omens, Parkway Drive but also Fleetwood Mac, Madonna, and Dua Lipa.“
If you could take any song in history and instead make it so that Seven Blood wrote it, which song would it be and why ?
“Uhh, there are many to be honest. But “Master of Puppets” by Metallica and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen for sure.”
When can people expect the debut album?
“We plan to release our debut album in summer 2025.”

Finally when/where can fans see you on tour?
“We’re going to be on tour with Future Palace all across Europe in November/December 2025. Please check out our website for tour dates”. https://www.sevenblood.com/
