After a long and needed sleep we headed back to the festival first thing to scan our tickets and get our re-entry wristbands, after that we decided to head down to the Las Vegas Strip before continuing where we left off at the festival, we went in and out of all the hotels and walked all the way down to the Las Vegas Sign (it’s a 3 hour walk, wouldn’t recommend with a broken toe haha!)

After a day of adventure we headed back to the festival almost at the point where we left off, we headed straight to the Pink and Green stage area to catch the last couple Rise Against songs ‘Prayer of the Refugee’ and ‘Savior’ and got ourselves a decent spot as we knew we wouldn’t be moving for the rest of the night.
Next up was Good Charlotte, one of Rex’s favourite bands and the first time we have seen them live! It was the first time Good Charlotte had performed live in 4 years and despite being away for so long they put on an incredible performance, they performed ‘Girls & Boys’ very well and we even had a surprise guest Lil Wayne, and they performed ‘A Milli’ by Lil Wayne. Good Charlotte with Lil Wayne finished their set with ‘Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous ‘ creating an amazing atmosphere for the next band.

Unfortunately 30 Seconds to Mars were disappointing, they had to pump crowd cheers through the speakers and couldn’t even get through a full song without having to stroke Jared Letos ego, the whole crowd was stunned and just sort of stood in silence while watching the disaster unfold in front of us. You could hear the crowd questioning what was going on. As fans of 30 Seconds to Mars, we have since been unable to listen to them in the same way, they have ruined themselves for us with this set, thier only saving grace of the set was Steve Aoki joining them on stage and throwing a cake at the audience, followed by Kenny Hoopla joining 30 Seconds To Mars and performing ‘The Kill’
Luckily The Offspring bought the enthusiasm and energy back up to 110% with ‘All I Want’ The crowd went absolutely wild and everyone was jumping and singing for the whole set! We have seen The Offspring live a few times and they are always a fantastic show! They played ‘Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)’ and ‘You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid’ although the crowd was singing so loud we are unsure if they even needed to put in as much effort as they did. The Offspring finished their set with ‘Self Esteem’ keeping the energy high for Blink-182!

Turning slightly right to see the Pink Stage, Blink-182 came running on stage singing ‘Anthem Part 2’ you could tell that the band were friends (again) with all the dirty jokes and innuendos between songs. We really enjoyed ‘Happy Holidays, You Bastard’ sped up. We are glad they have put the past behind them and we got to experience all the sillyness. Blink finished their 24 song set with ‘ONE MORE TIME’ which was their new song at the time, written about thier history together. Fireworks went off behind the stages for the finale of thier set.
And finally the headliners of the night, St Jimmy’s favourite band, Green Day! The longest set of the festival at 2 hours, Greenday filled the time with two of thier new songs from their (at the time) brand new unreleased album, including the live debut of ‘Look Ma, No Brains!’ as well as the usual ayyy ooohhs and getting a fan on stage for ‘Knowledge’ where they play guitar with a fan and let them keep it. In classic Green day fashion thier final song was ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’ while fireworks lit up the sky for a very impressive display!

The Monday after there were so many grebs still in Vegas, we walked past the Showgrounds and it was a little emotional to see everything being taken down. Even now the whole thing seems like an amazing dream, but we do get reminded of it every time we wear our merch t shirts and someone inevitably asks us if it was a real festival or a made up dream festival! We would love to go back and do it again, hopefully the stars will align and fill our bank accounts so we can do it again some day!
St Jimmy & Rex 🖤☠️
