Purely for the song , or the band in general ? 😁

This is way too hard. At this point in my metal adoration, the first 4 or 5 Sepultura albums are exactly the kind of groove metal I listen to all the time. And my favorite is Roots. But I learned to love metal at the time Motley Crue released Shout at the Devil. I still own the original picture sleeve 45 of Looks That Kill with Piece of Your Action as the Bside. I have to go Motley Crue and honor my past.

Sounds like I’ve hit the sweet spot of indecision 🤣 it’s great to hear so much love for sepultura though I was expecting nobody to mention them at all. Ps those 4 albums … chefs kiss!

I pick Sepultura, mostly because I loath Motley Crue. I’ll give them Shout at the Devil and Theater of Pain – both solid albums. They went downhill with Girls, Girls, Girls, although I do like Mick Mar’s work on that one. They were MTVs heavy metal darlings – that is their only real superpower. Overrated and now washed up.

So in general you don’t like them due to MTV ? No judging here 🤣 do you like sepulturas music though? 😁

It has nothing to do with MTV. I just theorize that if MTV wasn’t around, they wouldn’t have been the stars they became. I acknowledged that their earlier albums were solid. I admire Mars’ work, but that’s as far as I can go. Motley Crue is an average metal band. They hit all the standard tropes – scantily clad girls, booze, drugs, fast living… yawn. Musically, nothing that Black Sabbath hadn’t already done. Sepultura has a different sound, and their sound influenced other bands I like, such as Machine Head and Five Fingered Death Punch.

Yeah, they were one of the warmup acts for Metallica on their two-day concert in Detroit. They were fantastic.

Absolutely! It’s great to listen to many different genres though as sometimes a band might cross over , for example a punk-metal band 😁

Motley Crue were inconsistent, but when they rocked, were certainly memorable. Dr. Feelgood was a later career surprise, and is a bass juddering self-titled bit of storytelling. This, before the eponymous training song, Kickstart, and surprisingly funny Don’t Go Away Mad.

Although I’m not a huge fan of Mötley Crüe, I’ll take them over anything Death Metal. Not a fan of growling instead of singing. 😆

The two bands cannot compare because it’s hard metal versus a hair poser band the music u totally different and it’s really just which one you like only because it’s not a good match compare sepultura to Pantera something like that I recommend & my answer is Sepultura.
