Cozzer’s Question 30/09/24

If you could create a brand new Super Group with any 5 Artists, Dead or Alive, Who would you pick?

I’ll go first.

Vocals – Dio

Rhythm Guitar – James Hetfield

Lead Guitar – Dimebag Darrell

Bass – Phil Lynott

Drums – John Bonham

I would love to see what these legends could come up with, with all their unique sounds and backgrounds. It truly would be something special.

I’d love to hear what weird and whacky music would come from that group 😂

I’m sure it would definitely scale on the “experimental” side. 😀

It’d either be really fun, or really horribad. It might end up in just smashed instruments and a bonfire in the middle of the studio.

Great question and brilliant suggestions yourself!

Vocals – Chris Cornell – always wanted to see him or his bands and never got the chance

Rhythm Guitar – Matt Heafy – I think the vocal combo with Chris would be really interesting plus he is one hell of a guitarist this is a supergroup you don’t want all the members from the same genre space !

Lead Guitar – Tim Henson – I think his band Polyphia have some awesome showcasing of instruments and this dude has some serious skill. I’d be intrigued what he would do with a band that played more traditional rock songs.

Bass – Lemmy – Do I really need to explain this one it’s Lemmy for Christ’s sake … but yeah I think the way he played the bass like a regular guitar would provide some epic combinations.

Drums – Dave Grohl – so you know how I mentioned the extra singer well with lemmy above and now dave this band would have endless change ups between songs and within songs. Plus this dude is a great drummer !

I’d love to hear your thoughts

That is an awesome band lineup. With the amount of singers there too, you could have a mastadon type thing where the vocals switch up alot. 🤘🏻

I had a terrible time keeping it to just 5…..so I added substitutes if someone weren’t available. 🙂

    David Bowie – Vocals/Rhythm guitar
Adrian Belew/Peter Frampton – Lead guitar
    Gail Ann Dorsey/Peter Hook/Mark King – Bass
    Prince/Keith Richards – Rhythm guitar
    Zack Alford – Drummer

Not sure the personalities would mesh, but Lead Vocals would be Geoff Tate (Queensryche) in his prime, Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen) or David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) as Lead Guitarist (those two as dual leads would be epic just for the contrast in style), Eric Clapton on Rhythm Guitar (and the occasional lead), Geddy Lee (Rush) on Bass, Keyboards, and backing vocals, and of course the GOAT, Neil Peart on drums/percussion. With Mr. Gilmour, you could have the occasional Saxophone dual with him and Geoff Tate.

Hard to even imagine. Perhaps some kind of mix of those who are and are no longer, With lead vocals Meat Loaf, Eddie Van Halen in there doing what he does best, Ringo Starr on drums, Some kind of mix up like that and perhaps Little Richard somewhere there pounding away on the piano.

Okay, it’s been difficult.. I could have come up with ten different combinations. This will have to do though – and please note that the guitarists are interchangeable:
    Vocals: Tina Turner
    Rhythm Guitar: Brian May
    Lead Guitar: Keith Richards
    Bass: Jack Bruce
    Drums: John Bonham

    I hope that works. 🙂

Original Metallica lineup (no not Mustaine). I’m talking Hetfield, CLIFF BURTON, replace Hammet with Randy Rhoads (sorry Kirk), and fuck Lars, put Danny Carey on drums, and I’m torn for vocals. Either Maynard, Randy Blythe or (to spice it up and see what happens cuz I love his raw lyrics) MC Ride of Death Grips.
