Introduction
British alt rock/metal band Vorstellan have a unique grunge sound that is both nostalgic and modern. You can hear their post-grunge influences in bands like Placebo and Bush. There is also a dark tinge in the background which no doubt was drawn from bands like Breaking Benjamin.
After a brief hiatus, the band have returned (More on that later); they are better than ever. New music is just around the corner too which is really exciting.

Regarding the release of “Come Back Down” and “Enemy” on Spotify. While I don’t have the specific release dates at this moment, I can assure you that we are working diligently to create new tracks available as soon as possible, as we look to enter the studio to record brand new music next year in 2025.
Please stay tuned for updates through our official channels and social media, where we will announce the release dates once we feel we are ready. We truly appreciate your patience and support!
Are there any plans for a UK wide tour?
We’ve definitely been thinking about a UK wide tour! We’re currently in the process of finalising some details, so keep an eye on our social media for updates. For now, we have a show on Saturday 12th October 2024 in Sunderland, UK at a venue called The Bunker. We can’t wait to hit the road and share our sound with all of you.
Your debut album “Encephalon” came out in 2020, is there any plans for a follow up any time soon?
There are no immediate plans to follow up the “Encephalon” debut album. Our plan is to release singles, accompanied by music videos, as well as social media content surrounding those songs, and continue to build up a core fan base and supporters. Once there is enough of a demand for us to record a second album, that’s when we will start work on the follow up.
All Hope Has Gone , your latest single from 2023 is quite the message , what inspired the song?
Thank you for your kind words about ‘All Hope Has Gone.’ The inspiration for the song came from a period of reflection during challenging times. It’s a piece that explores the feeling of despair and the struggle to find light in moments of darkness. I wanted to capture those raw emotions that many of us experience but may find difficult to articulate.
The song serves as an acknowledgment of pain but also as a reminder that even in our lowest moments, there can be a glimmer of hope. I hope it resonates with listeners and encourages them to hold on to that hope, no matter how faint it may seem.
What made the band go on Hiatus?
The band decided to go on hiatus for several reasons. After years of intense gigging and recording, we felt that it was important to take a step back to recharge creatively and personally. Each member wanted to explore individual projects and interests, allowing us to grow both as artists and as individuals. Additionally, we recognised the need for a break to focus on our mental and emotional well-being.
I knew the hiatus wasn’t the end; rather, it’s a time for reflection and rejuvenation so that when we came back, we can bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to our music. We’re grateful for the support from our fans and look forward to reuniting with each one of you.
What made the band ultimately get back together?
The decision for the band to get back together was driven by a combination of nostalgia, a shared love for our music, and the realisation that we still had a lot to say. After spending some time apart, we each reflected on our individual journeys and the impact our music had on fans. We found that the chemistry was still present and that there was an undeniable magic within Vorstellan.
The fans’ ongoing support and enthusiasm also played a significant role; their passion reminded us of the special connection we had built over the years. Ultimately, it felt like the right time to come back, create new music, and relive the joy of being on stage again.
Which of your songs would you say encompasses Vorstellan the most?
If I had to choose a song that encompasses Vorstellan the most, I would say it’s “Home ft. Sam Graves.” This track captures the essence of what Vorstellan represents. The lyrics and melody intertwine to create a sense of longing which invites listeners to reflect on their own journeys with their own mental health. I believe it resonates deeply with the themes we explore within Vorstellan.
Whats the best show you have ever played and why was it so great?
The best show we ever played was definitely in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. The energy in the venue that night was electric, and the crowd was incredibly responsive—singing along and bringing such a positive vibe. What made it even more special was the connection we felt with the audience; it was one of those nights where everything clicked perfectly.
That being said, we truly cherish all the shows we’ve played around the UK and Internationally. Each city has its own unique charm and incredible fans that make every performance memorable. We are thankful for the opportunity to share our music with such passionate audiences everywhere we go!
If you could play a show in any country in the world , which one would it be?
If we could play a show in any country, it would definitely be Australia! We’ve been blown away by the incredible support we’ve received from our Aussie fans. From the moment we started sharing our music, Australia opened its arms to us, and it truly feels like a second home. The vibrant music scene, the amazing energy of the fans, and the warmth of the people all make it a place we dream of performing.
That said, we genuinely appreciate every country that has supported us along our journey and can’t wait to visit those countries.

If you had to choose a 3 course meal to eat for the rest of your life what would it be and why ?
If I had to choose a 3-course meal to eat for the rest of my life, it would be a combination that perfectly balances comfort, flavor, and a touch of cultural flair.
First up, for my starter, I would choose pancakes from Stack and Still in Glasgow. These pancakes are not just any pancakes; they offer a delightful range of flavors and toppings that can be personalized to my taste.
Whether I go for a classic maple syrup and butter or indulge in something fruity and decadent, the variety keeps each breakfast fresh and exciting. Plus, there’s something incredibly comforting about starting my meal with pancakes, making them the perfect way to kick off any dining experience.
For the main course, I would go with a Chicken Tikka Masala from Mumbai Silk in Sunderland. This dish is not only a British classic but also brings in rich flavours and spices that create a warm, satisfying experience.
The tender chicken, enveloped in a creamy tomato sauce, pairs perfectly with rice or naan. It’s a dish that never fails to lift my spirits and has a depth of flavour that I could enjoy time and time again. The blend of spices, paired with the heartiness of the meal, makes it the perfect centrepiece for my lifelong indulgence.
Finally, for dessert, I would indulge in a good tiramisu from an authentic Italian restaurant. There’s something about the combination of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, luscious mascarpone, and a dusting of cocoa that makes it irresistible.
Tiramisu is the perfect end to a meal, striking the right balance between sweetness and richness. Each bite transports me to Italy, and I can savour the complex flavours while still feeling a sense of comfort.
Together, this meal represents a blend of my favourite flavours and memories, making it an ideal trio to enjoy for the rest of my life!
Where did the name for the band come from?
The name of our band, ‘Vorstellan,’ actually has a fun origin story tied to my experience learning German. One day, while exploring a German language website, I came across the word ‘vorstellen,’ which means ‘presentation’ or ‘concept.’ It really resonated with me, and I thought it would make a unique and memorable name for the band.
We decided to spell it as ‘Vorstellan,’ adding an ‘A’ instead of the ‘E’ to avoid any potential misunderstandings or pronunciation challenges. It captures the essence of what we want to convey through our music—a presentation of our thoughts and emotions!
Do you have anything you want to let fans know about?
I just want to take a moment to express how deeply I appreciate all of our friends and supporters. Your love and encouragement mean the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.
I truly want to be a part of your lives, sharing moments, stories, and experiences together. Your support inspires me daily, and I hope to continue building this amazing community with you. Thank you for being such an essential part of this journey—we’re in this together!
If you could pick a line of lyrics from one of your songs and say that’s your best , which line would it be and why ?
If I had to choose a line from our song “In Repair” that I believe encapsulates our message best, it would be: “Emotion sick / Through despise / Love has fallen / On hollow eyes.”
This line speaks to the rawness of human experience and the complexities of love and emotional pain. It paints a vivid picture of despair and disillusionment, which many people can relate to. The phrase “Emotion sick” suggests a deep fatigue from feeling, as if the weight of such intense feelings is too much to bear. “Through despise” highlights the struggles we often face when love becomes tainted by betrayal or disappointment.
What makes this line particularly powerful is its portrayal of love as something both fragile and haunting, illustrated in the imagery of “hollow eyes.” It evokes the sense that even when love is present, it can be devoid of warmth and joy, leaving us feeling empty.
Ultimately, this line resonates because it acknowledges the darker sides of love while also hinting at the potential for healing and repair. It encapsulates the emotional journey we go through and allows listeners to reflect on their own experiences, making it a core essence of what our song represents.
What excites you about the future of Vorsellan?
What excites me most about the future of Vorsellan is the opportunity to elevate our efforts and deepen our connections with our supporters. I am genuinely thrilled about the prospect of stepping up my game and exploring new ways to engage with our community.
Additionally, the idea of expanding our reach to countries we have yet to explore is incredibly inspiring. I envision building meaningful relationships in these new regions, creating a broader network of support and collaboration. It’s an exciting journey ahead, and I am eager to contribute to the growth and success of Vorsellan, ultimately enhancing the experiences of our supporters around the globe.
