Three Days Grace – Wake Up.
One of my favorite bands reunited with their original singer. In honour of this, I just HAD to include a Three Days Grace song this week. I’ve been been acting like an excited little school girl since this was announced… I’ve decided to take it back to their self-titled debut album from 2003.
The song I have selected is “Wake Up” and its a song about a rather dysfunctional relationship. I love how the songs vocals and instruments feel so raw, and real! There is a real storytelling element to which this band does so well. In this case they highlight that abusers don’t change and the receiver of that abuse is better off leaving.
The title of the song, I think in this case, nods brilliantly to the band’s potential. They are back again and have “Woken Up”. Although replacement singer Matt was never bad, the band was just lacking that spark. I’m really intrigued how they will now share vocal responsibilities going ahead!

Sonic Boom Six – Strange Transformations.
My playlist tends to change with the season, and as a huge fan of Halloween and all things horror, this song has always been a seasonal favourite of mine, well the whole album really!
St Jimmy
Jet – She’s a Genius
Saw these live the other day on their first UK/Ireland tour for the first time in 15 years! They put on a great show playing their first album in full with some extras, One of those extras was this song with a great riff and a short catchy chorus. Look out for the review on 17th October.

Iron Maiden – Run To The Hills.
I love how the main drum beat at the start makes you want to jump up and start running. I also love the powerful lyrics too!
Lucky Luke
For Today – Broken Lens.
I like the chorus , especially the way it repeats and makes the rest of the song worth listening to!
