Cozzer’s Question 28/10/24

Is there any Artist or Band that you used to hate, but now you secretly love?

I’ll go first. I used to hate “Bring Me the Horizon”, But as I’ve gotten older I have found that I quite enjoy some of their work and are no longer sure why I even used to dislike them.

Well I’m not at all surprised what yours is Mr I don’t like bring me the horizon before I’ve even listened to any of their songs 🤣

for me it’s probably the beatles … I used to hate how popular they were so never gave them the time of day. As I’ve got older I’ve tried them out and I can say I’m a fan now . Not to obsessive levels but still I no longer hate them…

Also hated the beatles growing up. My mom listened to them, was a big fan and I just felt I listened to them too much and they were overplayed..now I don’t mind them

There are a handful of 80s-90s bands I used to hate (there are a few I dislike now that I didn’t mind back then). Pixies, Nirvana and Sugar Cubes are a few examples. Now I find myself liking those and a few others quite a bit for the purposes of nostalgia. Smiths are a band I mostly tolerated back then and I now fully dislike Morrissey’s personality and antics so much I only listen to a few of their songs because of my respect for Marr’s talents.

No particular name comes to mind, but there’s a lot of songs that friends have shared that come from very, very odd sources… but have also managed to get themselves stuck in my head. Usually fan music for video games I’ve never played.

For me, it’s the Eagles. Although I didn’t admit to liking them as a teenager because my dad liked them but once I grew up, I finally admitted it

I used to find Busted overly childish when I was growing up, but now I (not so secretly) find their music charming for its silliness. I have all of their albums. 🤣

When I was at school in my teens everyone was going crazy about the ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ track and album. I didn’t like it much, too tame for me, plus I didn’t want to follow the pack (a lifelong trend of mine). Later though I got to like their music – growing up, I suppose. 😂

The English rock band Smokie sort of grew on me, I later enjoyed many ot their songs and when the lead singer Chris Norman went solo I was crazy about his music too.
