The band was named after a conversation surrounding what to call a magazine. Lars liked the idea so much that he used it for the band. He asked his friend to call the magazine something else.
Metallica has played on every continent, they played Antarctica in 2013 in a one off show named “Freeze Em All”.
James Hetfield is a keen apiarist.
The song clue was due to Dave Mustaine of Megadeth being an original member of Metallica.
