I’ve only recently discovered Metallica and I like them even though they’re a different genre to the music I normally listen to. These were five tracks that I haven’t heard before but if I have to pick my favourite track it would be ‘Enter Sandman’
Thank you 🙏 I’m going to have a go at posting a poll like you do if that’s ok. I’m a massive oasis fan so I’m going to post 10 songs and see what is the peoples favourite
Best song among the five mentioned would be “Master of Puppets.” Here’s why:
“Master of Puppets” is widely considered Metallica’s magnum opus and stands out as their most impactful and influential song.
While each of the mentioned songs has its merits – “Enter Sandman” for its mainstream appeal, “Nothing Else Matters” for its emotional depth, “For Whom the Bell Tolls” for its anthemic quality, and “One” for its dynamic composition and powerful narrative – “Master of Puppets” stands out as the most complete representation of Metallica’s musical prowess, lyrical depth, and lasting influence on the metal genre.
Wow, talk about hard hitting questions, this should have been addressed in the debates. But if you’re holding a water pistol to my head, I’d go with “One” because of the concept, and the fact that you feel like you’re seeing (er, saw?) and feeling things through the soldier’s eyes. Then of course the buildup to the anguish and the rage? *Chef’s kiss*. Gotta say though, strongly dislike that you made me choose one. Because in reality, I choose them all \m/ \m/ ❤
Love Enter Sandman but I have to say Nothing Else Matters b/c the vocals are great and it’s such a visceral sound, raw & gritty. I’m a big fan of the band in general but that song…just YES!
Challenging to choose, indeed, as Metallica is one of my favorite bands for ages. “One”, “Nothing else Matters” & “Enter Sandman” are the top 3 in my personal ranking. If I must decide, “Nothing Else Matters” is the winner, because apart from the vocals the lyrics are beautiful and have a special meaning to me.
