I honestly like both. I’m more of a Marilyn Manson and Metallica fan but, to be honest, Iron Maiden is pretty badass to listen to on an early morning with a good cup of coffee. What a way to start off the day!🤘🔥

Brilliant way to start the day indeed! Nothing wrong with a bit of Metallica or MM either !

My Cousin was a massive Iron Maiden fan but I don’t think I could name one of their songs. As far as Judas Priest go, I’ve heard of them but that’s it. I’m into Manchester music and bands so if had posted Oasis vs The Stone Roses id have been better versed to comment on it (not sure which one I’d choose though 😂). I really enjoy the posts though and the introduction to other bands 👌

I like both. I probably listen to Priest more and I’ve seen them live more times than Maiden. Maiden’s songs are sometimes a bit too long for me although I am in awe of Steve Harris as a songwriter. He plays incredible bass, too. I’ve tried to play some of those songs. They’re very fast and complex bass lines.

Yeah there is some maiden songs at like 9 mins long so that’s understandable 🤣

Great comparison. Have seen both live and I did prefer Maiden but Priest are great. I may well have ended using liking Preist more if I hadn’t asked if my local record shop had any posters they didn’t want and was given a Maiden poster when I was a teenager. The record shop mostly sold classical so I suspect they were happy to get rid and I thought I had better look the band up as I had their poster.

I saw both Priest and Maiden several times back in the early eighties – both great bands, put I always thought JP were more interesting musically.

Think it’s due to Tipton and Downing being so tight together on solos. Wishbone Ash had the same thing going for them, as did Thin Lizzy. Classic.

If it was any other song than Breaking the Law, I would have said Iron Maiden. But Breaking the Law is in my list of all-time classics! I post the time and date on Facebook whenever I hear it on Planet Rock. One of the greatest riffs of all time and a hilarious tongue in cheek video!

I have to say Iron Maiden since my dad was a huge fan and I listened to it quite a bit growing up. I like Judas Priest, at least I think I do but I can only name like 2 songs so…

While Iron Maiden is mainly a Soundmetal Soundtrack, deeply profound with historical narrative and moments, Judas Priest, with just a few selected songs, kills everything with the most hysterical sound, voice, and guitar riffs as instruments of rhetorical devotion.

My brother was a huge metal fan and he was the one that took me to my very first concert, (actually, he needed someone to drive him and a friend). And my very first concert was Judas Priest in Denver. I never got into Iron Maiden, so my pick would be Judas Priest.

Any band who writes a song about the television show The Prisoner gets my vote. Maiden!
