Noahfinnce – XOYO, Birmingham UK

Having discovered NOAHFINNCE at Download Festival earlier this year, we instantly became big fans and even went to Bludfest to see him again, however this time is a little different, instead of a festival, this time NOAHFINNCE is doing a headliner tour!

Xoyo was on the same street as mama Roux’s where we saw LØLØ the previous week, so we knew where it was. Although we were queuing a little while and we weren’t sure where we needed to stand due to having purchased the VIP meet and greet tickets, the security staff were very good and one even bought his pet dog, who was a very good boy!

The VIP experience was supposed to start at 5.30, but we had to wait a little longer and got let in at 6pm? There were around 50 people for this experience which we felt was probably the maximum you could get without it being too much. It began with us all sitting on the floor doing a group Q&A where NOAHFINNCE answered a variety of questions, including what his favourite dinosaur is. (Stegosaurus)

St Jimmy & NOAHFINNCE chatting

After the group Q&A, we then got up off the floor and into a queue for individual chats, photos, and signings. St. Jimmy did all the talking and photo taking as Rex is too socially awkward for this variety of things. NOAHFINNCE seemed like a really down to earth person, and signed two of our vinyls that we bought with us.

After meeting the main man, we got given a tote bag filled with lots of fun stuff. (hat, signed poster, and a bead bracelet) we then headed over to the merchandise stand where we also bought a NOAHFINNCE t-shirt, a Taylor Acorn hoodie, and a copy of Survival In Motion album on vinyl.

South Arcade

Although the VIP experience was predominantly filled with teenagers and parents, as the doors opened for general admission the age range in the room expanded, but was still quite a young crowd. As we were there before the doors opened we were almost at the barrier and in just enough time to grab a drink before the first band of the night came on.

HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER – South Arcade (All Rights Retained By South Arcade

South arcade are a pop punk band from Oxford, with lead singer, drummer, guitarist and bassist making up the band. They were incredibly energetic with their performance and sounded really grateful that people came early to see them too.

South Arcade performed 8 songs including ‘Danger’, ‘HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER’ and thier new single ‘Moth Kids’. They also treated us to a performance of thier unreleased song ‘2005’ that will be going straight on out playlist once it’s released, they finished thier set with ‘stone cold summer’.

Taylor Acorn

Next on stage was Taylor Acorn is a pop punk artist from Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, and although she was getting over a cold she sounded great and was still putting out an incredible amount of energy in her set.

She opened up with ‘Final Nail’ Taylor spoke a lot about mental health problems and her experiences with dealing with them. We enjoyed 10 Taylor Acorn songs at this gig including ‘I think I’m in love’ and ‘Shapeshifting’ finishing her set with ‘Psycho’.

Psycho – Taylor Acorn (All Rights Retained By Taylor Acorn)

After two amazing support bands, NOAHFINNCE came on stage and the crowd instantly went wild while he played ‘I Know Better’ he then took the time to thank everyone for coming out and telling us that he felt so comfortable as everyone was there for him and a lot of his fans relate to his neuro diversity and/or sexuality and transition.

As the set continues NOAHFINNCE blasted out banger after banger with ‘Scumbag’ and ‘Lifes a Bit’, along with 2 new songs added to the deluxe version of his latest album ‘Pet with the Tism’ and ‘Headcase’ there were so many mosh pits and jumping around!

NOAHFINNCE

NOAHFINNCE played his first single Asthma Attack which was originally recorded on a ukulele at the beginning of his transition, he no longer plays ukelele as he thinks it’s “cringe and gay”.

To finish the night Noah played ‘Growing up on the Internet’ and ‘Worms’ as his encore, the energy of the crowd finished as it started, high energy and full of enthusiasm!

The third time we’ve seen NOAHFINNCE, he’s great live and hasn’t disappointed us once, we look forward to seeing him again at Slam Dunk North in 2025. It was the first time we have seen the support bands, South Arcade and Taylor Acorn, but we would definitely go see them again!

St. Jimmy and Rex 🖤☠️
