This is too difficult, So many brilliant songs by them. Love all your choices but my all-time favourite Zeppelin song has to be the live ’77 version of No Quarter.
Do have a listen. The one that on the Song Remains the Same video is the best version. Many fond memories of nights with lava lamps and a bowl of herb and that playing. The song sounds ‘liquid” sort of…not sure how to describe it. It’s an incredible experience anyway
Ramble On for me. I can’t stand that noise Robert Plant makes in the Immigrant Song. My cousin is a huge fan of his. I never liked his voice (too high for me), and unlike other women my age (around in the 1970’s), I never found him attractive. Just my opinion.
I almost went with Immigrant Song. And Stairway to Heaven holds a special place, because I had never heard anything like it when it came out. But I voted for Black Dog. There’s a lot going on in that song, and I like all of it.
I’ll go Ramble On. The Tolkien references grabbed my attention when I was a teenager so it still holds a special place in my heart. Tough choice because Black Dog is a monster riff.
Love them all–was a huge Led Zep fan when they were on the rise and I was in my early teens. But I go with Ramble On–love the progressions in both music and vocals.
Ramble On is, and has always been, my favorite Led Zeppelin song. A few years back, I went to see Lindsey Sterling in Philadelphia (courtesy of my son) and there was a young couple in the row behind me. My ears perked up when I heard the guy say something about Led Zeppelin. The girl with him said, “Who’s that?” And he answered, “oh, one of those bands from a long time ago. I don’t really know anything about them.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 🙂
All great tracks but I went with Stairway to Heaven. I saved up newspaper round money, as a teenager, to buy that album back in the early 70’s. I still play it regularly and it’s always in my ‘top 5 albums’ played this year lists.
