I’ve never heard of Journey but I’m voting for them as I can’t stand U2. They’re nearly as irritating as Coldplay 😂

I do know a journey song actually, “Don’t stop believing”. I like it too so it’s definitely a win for journey over U2. If you did a battle of the bands for the most pretentious artist between U2 and Coldplay, who do you think would win? 🤔

U2 are a little like Metallica they were amazing in the 80s and then they made the most boring music imaginable. Check out rattle and hum or unforgettable fire it might help you change your opinion but Bono is still going to turn you off them so maybe I am wasting your time recommending these two albums.

Way back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, I was hitting the bars when happy hour food was plentiful, dance floors were abundant, and you didn’t really have to worry about drinking all night. I think Journey had a few years on U2 and was played often. Probably nostalgic, I’m voting for Journey.

I saw Journey play live at a stadium in the early 80’s. Never cared for U2, but honestly if I was deciding based on just those two songs, I’d probably pick U2. A lot of Journey’s stuff was way overplayed in the U.S. That and Neal Schon is a bit of a jerk.

i felt like Journey never got a fair shake in the US.

even in TV shows, I don’t know why – for the life of me – they had to abruptly cut off their song in the Sopranos finale 😅 Mike

Both bands were huge but overplayed. I don’t seek them out but I do turn up the volume when they come on the radio.

Journey. Steve Perry in his prime may have been the greatest tenor in pop history. Here in the states, Don’t Stop Believin’ is a national anthem of pop music.

U2 many collective albums, easy listening. Journey reference songs, might sound better for their nostalgic vintage noise keyboard symphonic sound of voices only for one moment.
