That’s a hard one. My husband was ZZ Top all the way, so I listened to them a lot. My son loved Jump and had Van Halen on often. So … I’m stuck in the middle. If I have to choose – Van Halen, Jump.

VAN HALEN!!!!! I am and will always be a HUGE Van Halen fan. I grew up in Pasadena, and saw Van Halen all the time. I went to their backyard parties, before they made it to the big time, when they were still going by Mammoth, I would run into Diamond Dave all over town, at the movies, in restaurants, driving down the streets of Pasadena. So for me, it will ALWAYS be VAN HALEN!

I have to go with ZZ Top, I saw them last year with Lynard Skynyrd and I really enjoyed the show.

Hard choosing between these two bands. But the song choices given make it easier. La Grange > Jump.

ZZ Top is not Van Halen, this battle makes no sense. I like ZZ Top because of the executive texas grunge that is not responding anywhere like a new sound wave, a standout band, we lost an American music hero. Van Halen is happiness, joy of living, too much for me, I need to be calmed down to be depressed properly. Eddie was one of those people that never born to die, unacceptable.

Ah you see if you’re trying to compare the bands that’s the first issue haha its all about what people prefer. A way for us to gauge music takes and its done quicker by comparing oranges to monster trucks haha

ZZ Top. So many iconic riffs, amusing videos–never really took themselves seriously. Saw them one time about 22 years ago and they were amazing live.

I’m just going to choose between the songs, since it is difficult to compare the bands. When “Jump” came out, it felt like Van Halen was abandoning their rock and roll roots with the use of the synthesizer, so I’m going to go with “Le Grange.”
Plus, I could never play any of Eddie’s guitar solos, but “Le Grange’s” I rocked.

That’s tough. I love Van Halen but I grew up listening to ZZ Top as my dad was a huge Classic Rock fan and as soon as I hear that guitar, I smile, so…ZZ Top
