Take Hold of the Flame-but the live version from Tokyo. NEVER fails to pump me up, no matter how low I’m feeling.

You guys sure like the really hard questions! Don’t laugh, but one song that always makes me seriously happy is Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky.” It’s just so fun, and has that great 60’s vibe (which is probably why it’s used on the soundtracks of about a zillion films about the ’60’s!).

Also, “Life During Wartime” makes me really happy (and want to dance). It’s not exactly a cheerful song if you listen to the lyrics (a little too close to reality lately, or always), but David Byrne is magical enough to read the label of a soup can and be fascinating.

I could go on, but that’s my answer for today. 🙂

“Heroes” by David Bowie. And just so I’m not classified as a one-trick pony, I also adore The Silencers’ “Sacred Child” for a lift. 🙂
