Song Background Information

The Forest Forgets – Peel Back (All Rights Are Retained By The Forest Forgets)

“Peel Back is a song about losing a friend. Life can pull people apart in a number of different ways, but some reasons hold more merit than others. The justifications in this song are based around individual philosophical beliefs that don’t have common ground.

Having grown up in a Christian household, and quickly falling out of faith in adulthood, I approach righteous evangelicalism with strong skepticism more so than understanding. Peel Back is an ode to the doubt I hold in regards to the outcome of religious fanaticism.

I’ve seen that path taken many times before, and in my experience, it never ends well.” – Griffin Romprey, lyricist & vocalist.
