It’s the time of the week that we highlight one of our favourite new releases. This time its Thunder by It Had To Be Snakes. Read a little about the song in the band’s own words. Then, listen to it once or fifty times!
Song Background Information
I (Jordan) wrote the riff the day Chris Cornell died as a way to mourn his passing and had written some silly lyrics that were uninspiring and caused me to to shelf the tune. About a year later when we officially started IHTBS, Johnny asked me to play the Chris Cornell thing for the guys and it became one of our tunes.
I’m pretty sure Johnny had written lyrics in hopes the guys would like it because he seemingly had lyrics instantly. Here’s his blurb about the lyrics…“Thunder was inspired by old spaghetti westerns and bravado. You’re introduced to a notorious group of individuals that have fast heavy hands, and a do-as -we-please attitude. As stories like these go, they come to a town with equal grit and a hell-you-will reply. White hat or black hat, it’s a banger to get the adrenaline cranked for everyone.”
Presently we’re about to start recording our sophomore EP, “Golden Fleece”, which will hopefully be out spring of 2025.
