I am going to say 1978…based on the Ramones and Def Leppard…and maybe Saturday Night Fever too.

1977? (How did three songs that sound like they were made on three very different planet–one brilliant, one groundbreaking, and one…annoying and bland) get released in that year, whatever it was?!)

Correct with your year guess! And yeah it’s odd isn’t it but I guess that’s why we love music it inspires people in completely different ways

I wish I’d seen the Ramones at CBGB’s, but I never made it there until about 1986 (it was still really cool, with the scariest bathroom ever 🙂 . And I’ve never seen Steely Dan (the brilliant one), unfortunately. They have a “show” coming up, but with Walter Becker gone it would just seem kind of sad, even though I think he and Fagen preferred to let other musicians play most of their music live.

I LOVE Saturday Night Fever (yes, I have pretty eclectic musical tastes)! I have a playlist that I dance/work out to, and it absolutely had to have a couple of songs from the film on it. Last night as “Night Fever” was playing and I was dancing, I was trying to remember how people danced to it in the movie, and you just reminded me that I wanted to watch it again to see. Unfortunately, I don’t have a 3-piece white suit and great hair, but we do what we can!

Not all disco sucks, although if I’d said that at CBGB’s someone probably would have beaten me up in the scary bathroom. 🙂

I love it too even though it came out before I was born! When i was young, pretty much any musical/dancing wove its way into my heart and this one was one of the first. Every few months I’ll pull up a playlist on YouTube and dance around the living room to it while my hubs laughs hysterically. And btw, Night Fever is on several of my playlists b/c it’s such a rad song.

You don’t need a white suit or great hair, all of that is contained within the dance itself. Get your boogie on! I love (some) disco too. Dated a guy when I was in high school who liked it. Got rid of the dude, kept the fondness for disco, we’re complicated like that 😛
