Nothing wrong with a tie 🙂 If you had to pick an album from them both ? 🙂

Between these two I would have to call it a draw.

Fair enough 🙂 Which album do you enjoy the most from the bands ?

Oh, that’s a tough one! On the one hand the 1977 performance of Hotel California in MD is the BEST. But Creep? That’s one of those songs that got me started on my road to rock/grunge love. So…I dunno. Yes to both for the sake of nostalgia.

Haha im not going to force you to pick! 😛 Creep I honestly think is the better song , but the eagles the better band.

Very tough to compare since their styles are so different. Particularly since Eagles evolved from country-inspired rock to a more commercial sound.

If you twist my arm, I’ll have to go with Eagles simply because their 1970s output was consistently good, their songwriting, and Joe Walsh (even though he wasn’t with them in the beginning).

      Absolutely completely different in styles!

I appreciate you giving an answer , but even more so that you picked in the end 😀 I agree I think their work in the 70s was excellent!

Even though they are different styles, and I can see why some people call it a tie, I’m going to go with Creep. I haven’t heard the song for quite a while and forgot how much I liked it. I like Hotel California, too, but’s it’s been overplayed here. Both songs are interesting and unique.

Yeah I do the different styles on purpose purely to make things interesting 🙂 I think I’d side with Eagles purely because I prefer their back catalogue more than Radioheads… However! I prefer Creep to Hotel California!

Ahhh … thank you for the gentle correction. 🙂 I was pitting the songs against one another, and you asked for band preference. As for the bands, I do prefer Eagles – so many songs I love!

Yeah I put a song up just incase people have never heard of a band they can then give them a try. I don’t mind people basing things off 1 song though just like people engaging with the music that’s my main aim 🙂

Wow, two very different leagues here, Eagles Hotel California every day of the week, though Creep is awesome. This is like pinning Bob Dylan against Ozzy…

I don’t dislike the other band, but ‘Hotel California’ is a classic with personal links. Many years ago I drove along a dark desert highway in Egypt with others, all singing along to ‘Hotel California’ and the rest of the album. Those were the days … 😎😎😎

I’ve gone with Creep although I don’t know it as well as I know Hotel Calif. I think what has swayed me is my daughter and granddaughter do an amazing karaoke duet of the song Creep. For that reason I’ve gone with that song. Both songs have a ‘creepy’ theme maybe too, eh!

I love this reasoning! Music is all about what we associate to a song rather than the song itself 😁

Creep. When the windmilling guitar segment hits, it gives a jolt through the system. This hard edge overtakes the comparably tame orchestration of Hotel California.

Hotel California is like a novel in a song. I believe RH was sued over creep. Sounded like 1972 “Air that I breathe.” Still love it.

I remember being a college radio DJ when Creep came out and I fell in love with them and the journey they always take me on. Pablo honey and the Bends were the only radio friendly albums and everything else is a clinic in creativity and the layering of musical sounds and rhythms. It’s my favorite to make art to.

I eventually was the general manager and a DJ. I had a jazz show, a EDM show, and an alternative show but I would fill in for everything from rap to rock to country if people didn’t make their time slots.

Is this a joke? The only thing the Eagles had going for them was Joe Walsh and that was only because of his other bands. That band has not aged well in my mind. I cringe every time I hear One of these Nights or Take it to the Limit. And puke after hearing the becoming chord of Hotel California. But Radiohead… I can dig some Radiohead. I’m done with Creep and Karma Police. But their catalog is so immense. Each album completely different from the last. And their live show… Eagles who?

Think eagles have to take it for me, purely because I prefer the eagles style over Radiohead and I was over exposed to creep in my childhood. In the same way there are a generation of us who hear the opening notes to my heart will go on from Celine Dion and go ‘oh no’.
