        Well I remember looking up the top charts for my birth year of 1979, so a couple of the songs weren’t on it and I know Carter was President when I was born; so shot in the dark, lol.

        Does it count that I ALMOST guessed 1978? Do I win a consolation prize? 🙂 I heard the Pretenders a few days after I first started college and was introduced to musical civilization in 1979, so I went for ’77 because I figured they’d needed more than a year to come out with that fantastic first album.

        Yes about Mr. Chaplin–as if he wasn’t given a hard enough time as a child, or when he was unceremoniously, um, deported from the U.S. (that sounds oddly familiar…)! Not to mention EW–what do you do with a body when you steal it?!

          It is an excellent first album , its rare these days bands produce something so good , so quickly for sure!
