If You Could See Any Band Live Who Would It Be?

For me it would have to be either (yes I am picking two bands but they are connected so don’t complain) Soundgarden or Audioslave. The connection being Chris Cornell. A singer who I was sadly not aware of till far too late into my music discovery.

Chris Cornell – You Know My Name (All Rights Are Retained By Chris Cornell)

I first heard his voice on the soundtrack for Casino Royale the first James Bond venture for Daniel Craig. When it first hit my eardrums I knew this was a singer I needed to explore much further. I then did a deep dive on his bands but the two that obviously stood out the most were Audioslave and Soundgarden.

Audioslave – Like A Stone (All Rights Are Retained By Audioslave)

Obviously Audioslave had that Rage Against The Machine edge to it and defiance. While Soundgarden I found to be heavier with dark riffs and obviously Chris’s soaring vocals.

Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun (All Rights Are Retained By Soundgarden)

So yeah maybe I have cheated a bit on this one but my real answer is likely Chris Cornell. I would love to know though who would you love to see , or if they are no longer with us who would you have loved to have seen. Tell me in the comments!

As my soul sister the immortal Newt once said…

“They’re all dead, alright? Can I go now?”

I would like to see the original lineup of The Who and The Lynyrd Skynyrd band before the crash again. I’ll have to live with those memories.

I’d love to see the Goo Goo Dolls and would have loved to witness Queen. Queen is my favorite band.

Would you still go and see Queen now that they are with Adam Lambert or does it not appeal. For me I dont see the point.

It does not appeal at all for me. Adam Lambert is beyond talented, but I would have loved to experience Queen with Freddie Mercury. He was lovely!

There are two I’d love to see live, but probably never will.

Judas Priest. I missed an opportunity to when I was a teenager and still regret it.

David Gilmour. My favorite guitarist and someone who I never get tired of listening to.

At least they’re still playing music. That’s all that really matters.

I agree with your choices Soundgarden is my favorite band of the 90s and was my favorite grunge band, I’d also love to see a full and complete be doing their entire discography from the beginning to the end.

For me, it will either be Breaking Benjamin or Three Days Grace. New to the rock and metal genre. Been listening to the music for 2 years. Before then I wasn’t into music, just j-rock music. But both of the bands got me into the rock genre

I am really glad those bands are what got you into the genre , you should check out Skillet, Black Stone Cherry and Shinedown!

I really like Skillet. While I was working out, the playlist put the invincible song after nine lashes. Never heard of Black Stone Cherry. I will check them out

I love your answers! I actually saw Soundgarden in ’96 at Lollapalooza and it was amazing. I’d love to see Janis Joplin (and Big Brother and the Holding Company to fit the actual question) or Jimi Hendrix (and his bands). Plus Queen but the real Queen…you know.

The eagles just have great easy fun sound, love the harmony when they sing, can’t name a song they sing that I don’t like! Van Halen is the energy and those guitar riffs that speak to. Whenever I hear the drums start in Hot for Teacher it immediately brings a smile to my face.
