Bytor told me that his snow dog would be angry at me if I did not vote for “Tom Sawyer.” Yes, he is a “modern day warrior” with a “mean, mean stride.” And by the by, his “mind is not for rent.” Those are my reasons for voting for Rush 🙂

They kept changing it up at times as well and did what they wanted to do artistically.

Even Flow–I relate more to Eddie Vedder’s angst.

Rush, no question. Three guys at the top of their game making amazingly complicated yet passionate music. Plus, their sound evolved over the decades as they explored different instruments and genres. There will never be another band like them.

I do like how their sound changed over time, if you had to pinpoint a favourite album? 🙂

That’s a tough question to answer. Permanent Waves, Signals, Counterparts, Snakes & Arrows…It’s like asking me to pick a which one of my dogs is my favorite! 🙂

For that specific matchup, I’m gonna go to Tom Sawyer. neither band is my favorite, but they both have their moments

Pearl Jam, but I never could get into Rush. Pearl Jam is the ’90s for me though. Those gritty, iconic tees with kids preferring crayons over guns messaging to Eddie Vedder scrawling “pro-choice” on his arm during MTV Unplugged. And the song Daughter. Oof. He made me feel seen. Still does.

Rush. Great memories when that song hit the radio; even better memories of playing the vinyl LP to death and replacing it with another vinyl copy and a CD. Long live Rush.

Yes. Yes’s third, fourth and fifth LPs come to mind. Those recordings took “techno rock” to new heights at the time.

I’m torn, but I think I’ve got to go with Even Flow. My 90s nostalgia demands it.

Pearl Jam gets my vote. Still listening to this day and they were a major part of the soundtrack of my youth! Rush was/is more of my Dad’s jam

That is totally valid 🙂 I love most of what my dad showed me , its just not my personal taste 75% of the time.

My dad listened to a lot of Classic Rock when I was growing up and when grunge happened he was like, “How can you like such good music yet such noise?” and you know what, he still stands by that. It’s why I make sure that Foo Fighters, Green Day or Nirvana is playing when I pick him up from the airport, hahhahaha

Rush exists in a realm, all on their own ✨

The wondrousness of their realm is exclusive to their incomparable style. They simply don’t have any competitors.
