Ah! This one is easy… Also I must admit a firm favourite of my own. Sure it might not be cool , in fact for years and years the cool thing was to rip on this band. The band? Nickelback.
I think the band over the years have come in for some serious hate and not all of it is warranted. I get the over commercial songs, I agree on “Rockstar” but come on they are some seriously catchy dudes! Over time I think the stance against them has softened for sure.
I think what I personally like about Nickelback the most is their ability to morph into whatever they want. Do they need a commercial banger to get them back into the limelight? Well then they write one (Not all of them are bad “How You Remind Me” Is a classic). But also they know how to shake it up with the best of them.
Don’t believe me? Then for the love of all things Nickelback check out “The Betrayal (Act III)” or “Animals” or even “Burn It To The Ground”. Yeah there is plenty of examples but mainstream media doesn’t want you to know. Their streaming numbers along display how much support the band have, I suspect even your buddies who rip on them secretly have jammed to their songs.
Lets be honest we all want a few songs to headbang to but on the flip side we want to have a bit of a sing a long too. And this band really are the masters of writing that sort of song… Let me know in the comments if your hatred for all things Nickelback still lives on and why.
